Writing Submissions

The Silver Century Foundation seeks journalists, columnists and photojournalists, as well as essayists, humorists, poets and scholars who write on the issues of aging. Please note that the Foundation's concern with aging focuses on the process of growing older and challenges the view that equates aging with physical and mental deterioration.  We see life's later years as a time of fulfillment. We are interested in how society influences the experience of growing older and wish to attract to the website people of all ages to consider and plan for their own aging.

Interested writers should phone (609) 683-4850 or send a letter of inquiry, a resume and three writing samples by mail.

The Foundation challenges entrenched and harmful stereotypes, encourages dialogue between generations, advocates planning for the second half of life, and raises awareness to educate and inspire everyone to live long, healthy, empowered lives.

Notable Quote

"It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved, but by reflection, force of character, and judgment; in these qualities old age is usually not poorer, but is even richer."

Cicero (106-43 BC)
